So I was preparing myself to use USB flash as an installation method. You're the best man... So reading this forum helped me because it HAD actually installed the SAS controller but was then looking for the controller that was hosting the DVD drive!!!!! Now when I select Browse, the thumb drive shows up and once pointed to the SATA/RAID drivers folder, the Win7 installer is happy. Click "Install Now" and voila! The only difference i can think of is the WHQL certification.
rvdeijk September 16, 2007 9:40:52 PM Hi, I allready heared from another forum that you have to insert your sata drivers into the xp cd with Nlite. Downloaded SATA drivers from the ASUS web site for my notebook and put the drivers on a floppy disk.
Be sure to configure your BIOS to allow install from USB. https://drp.su/drivers/notebooks/?v=ASUS&m=G2S&id=246&l=en I tried to load them one at time each time I got this result, It loaded the driver and went on loading the preloads for the Windows Install. Restore Order to Your Registry & Repair ActiveX Errors. This method worked perfectly for me.
We are a small company and, until this problem is resolved, will not migrate our systems. http://advalens.com/asus-g2s/asus-g2s-drivers-for-win-7.html Used Vista to shrink current c Drive and create a 7 Gig Partition on the drive. When promted to load sata drivers (3rd party drivers for the hard disk) a list of drivers comes up on screen. The screen came up to hit Enter to load windows or R to repair windows.
At the welcome screen, remove your USB drive, insert it back to DIFFERENT USB PORT. move one of them (usually the burner is the slave) to slave or if both are slave move one to master. Sunday, August 26, 2007 4:44 AM 0 Sign in to vote Had similar issues, luckily I had an external usb dvd drive which it loaded from without a problem. I assume all of you is using USB drive to install. still get that same message... EXCEPT .....when I upgrade to vista from a clean installed winxp!!
Not sure of that particular mobo but at least for the ASUS AM2 boards you don't need to install special drivers for the SATA drive to be recognized, in fact my Its shamefull that this silly issue ever became an issue at all of the consumers' expense. Having just found this forum it looks like there are some pointers as to why internal drives aren't working under vista but do under xp. I have wasted a whole day screwing around trying to find the solution to this.
My predicament: I have a netbook (no cd drive) and my computer has some terrable virus preventing it from even booting up, so my only option is to boot & install If had had a 3gb usb stick I would try that next. Also, plug back the power to your second optical drive, if you have one.All done... Get More Info I then created the install on a Flash USB drive and it worked right away.

I have 4gb mem installed and for some reason PM965/Santa Rosa based laptops can't handle that in XP. What made it even more confusing is that I just built the machine. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 1:45 AM 0 Sign in to vote I have not found a solution. None of the solutions referred to in this thread are working on the pc.
